Ubico wins two Fleet Vision International Awards

Ubico scooped up two awards at the Fleet Vision International Awards, an event dedicated to celebrating best practices and recognising excellence in the fleet industry. Ubico was named winner in two categories: ‘Best Road/Fleet Compliance Safety Initiative’ and ‘Fleet Team of the Year.’

The Best Road/Fleet Compliance Safety Initiative award acknowledges organisations that have implemented innovative strategies or measures that have significantly improved the safety of staff and the public by exceeding standard compliance requirements. Brigade Electronics kindly sponsored this award.

Health, safety, and compliance are always Ubico’s number one priorities, and with Ubico’s vehicles covering the whole of Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire, operations must be carried out safely to protect staff and those they encounter whilst delivering services.  Ubico takes a holistic approach to fleet compliance and safety, covering many aspects of the fleet. Highlights include additional in-cab technology, measures to assist manoeuvring and reversing, the trial of AI technology, audits, pre-emptive compliance measures and a focus on training and development.

The Fleet Team of the Year award recognises teams that have demonstrated exceptional performance over the last twelve months and used innovative new processes related to sustainability, emissions and waste reduction, and human resources. This award recognises teams that have overcome significant obstacles or successfully utilised the skills of all team members and can demonstrate collaboration with others.

Ann-Marie Knegt, Head of the Fleet Vision International Awards judging panel, commented: ‘The judges noted that Ubico’s fleet team’s flexible approach and expertise have played a key role in Ubico’s success and growth.  In the past two years, Ubico has expanded significantly, adding about 400 staff and 261 vehicles, along with two new workshops. The fleet team has adapted to these changes by modernising operations and improving workshops. It has also embraced collaboration with shareholder council partners to innovate and integrate alternative fuels and technologies, supporting climate objectives while benefiting the community and environment.’

Alternative fuels, including electric vehicles and hydrotreated vegetable oil, now account for just over a quarter of Ubico’s fleet.

Ubico’s Managing Director, Beth Boughton, said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to have won not just one but two awards in the Fleet Vision International Awards. I am particularly pleased that our fleet team has received this recognition. As a dynamic group, they possess unique skills that ensure our vehicles remain operational while providing essential frontline services to our communities. Ubico has experienced significant growth over the past two years, and the team has played a pivotal role in our success, innovation, and expansion.’
