Zero-emission trucks: industry and environmentalists call for binding targets for infrastructure

ruck makers and environmentalists have joined forces to push for the deployment of 11,000 charging points for electric trucks across the EU by 2025, rising to 42,000 by 2030. The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) and Transport & Environment (T&E) made this call to the European Commission in a joint letter.

The first 44-tonne hydrogen tractor-trailer hits the road

Belgian logistics company, Colruyt is the first to test a 44-tonne electric hydrogen truck in Europe. Dutch company VDL built the HGV, and it only emits water vapour and works with green hydrogen, generated with green power. The vehicle’s fuel cell converts hydrogen into electricity to recharge the batteries while moving.

ULEMCo to deliver hydrogen-fuelled spreaders for Glasgow City Council

ULEMCo, the company pioneering the adoption of ultra-low emission hydrogen fuel in the UK, has commenced the most massive single deployment of hydrogen dual-fuel vehicles yet seen. The move follows an order secured with Scottish company James A Cuthbertson, to transform Glasgow City Council’s existing fleet and some new spreaders to be hydrogen enabled.
