National hire and fleet solutions company NRG Riverside has opened a new depot for light and heavy commercial vehicle maintenance and hire in the heart of Trafford Park, providing 24-hour workshop facilities for new and existing customers.
NRG Riverside has invested in a new 10-year lease for a 15,260 sq. ft workshop facility located on Kestrel Road in Trafford Park, just 4 miles west of Manchester City Centre. The new facility will allow NRG Riverside to service and maintain its customers’ fleets to the highest standards. It is fully equipped with diagnostic, brake testing and service equipment to cater for all makes and models of light and heavy commercial vehicles.
The £2.5m investment into this new Manchester workshop also includes a state-of-the-art ‘Centre Of Excellence’, open for employee and customer use later in the year.
CEO of NRG Riverside, Darren Powell, commented: ‘The company has continually invested in its operations across the UK since its inception in 1996 and this new depot investment in Trafford Park, with capabilities to maintain complex fleets of all fuel systems, along with a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for training and development, will further accelerate our growth in the region. We will use this new facility to develop our people, including our apprentices, colleagues and more than 120 technicians who work at our locations across the UK.
‘Over the last 12 months, we have invested over £24m in a new fleet of 265 Euro 6 HGV vehicles for our flexi-hire offering, placed orders for another 300+ vehicles for contract hire and flexi-hire and secured production slots for 2024 deliveries. Also, just this week, we renewed the lease at our Skelmersdale Head Office for a further ten years.’
NRG Riverside‘s technicians are qualified to work on all vehicle makes and models. The fully equipped workshop offers a wide range of specialist HGV chassis cab, body repairs, maintenance, MOT preparation, LOLER and brake roller testing, and it can also maintain electric HGVs. It also offers LCV maintenance and repairs. Service Manager, Adam Sutch, is heading up the new workshop. ‘I’m looking forward to engaging with more businesses in the area to provide them with reliable, professional servicing, repairs and maintenance for their commercial vehicles.’
NRG Riverside’s Chief Operating Officer, John Matthews, Nathan Tate, Health, Safety and Group Property Manager, Adam Sutch, Service Manager and Anthony Glorman, Northwest Regional General Manager, have been closely involved in developing the new Manchester workshop depot, which opened this week.
John Matthews commented: ‘For NRG Riverside and the Depot teams, it is the culmination of a long-term project to boost growth in regional operations, enable local employment and development opportunities, and enable us to move closer to achieving our ESG goals for the future.’
