SWARCO eVolt, one of the UK’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure providers, has recruited Adrian Felton to lead the company’s solutions and capabilities within the electric bus (eBus) and truck sector.
Adrian, who joins as a National Strategic Account Manager, spent more than 20 years as a senior executive with the Volvo Bus business. He was also a member of the SMMT and Low CVP Bus Working Groups, helping shape policy and the funding mechanisms to enable the uptake of zero-emissions transport solutions.
Adrian joined his local Volvo Truck and Bus dealership as an HGV technician, an Apprenticed HGV mechanic by training, and a qualified class 1 HGV driver. He has held various roles as a field test engineer, front line technician, quality auditor, and product manager, working in the UK and Ireland, and more recently in Europe. He was closely involved with the launch of Volvo’s hybrid offering in 2010.
An early interest in the low emission and low carbon agenda led to his appointment in 2015 as the City Mobility Manager responsible for driving forward the manufacturer’s electromobility strategy. He was also responsible for securing and delivering electric bus projects, including a scheme in Harrogate and at two airports in Birmingham and Dublin. His role meant a close liaison with Government officials at both a central and local level sitting on various round tables shaping how the industry transitioned from diesel to Zero Emission.
