The Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP, Leader of HM Official Opposition and the Conservative Party, visited engineering services provider T H WHITE Group in Devizes on Thursday, May 1, to tour local Wiltshire businesses ahead of the upcoming local elections.
Danny Kruger, MP for East Wiltshire, and Councillor Richard Clewer, Leader of Wiltshire Council, joined the Conservative leader.
Welcomed by Alexander Scott, CEO of T H WHITE Group, and Ian Childs, Palfinger UK Production Director, Mrs Badenoch was given a guided tour of the Devizes site, home to several of the Group’s businesses: Palfinger UK, T H WHITE Projects, and T H WHITE Energy, Fire & Security, as well as the company’s central functions team.
During the visit, the delegation met with TH WHITE leadership team members from other businesses, including Adrian Lovegrove and Mason Hatton (Divisional Directors), along with Jane Fowler and Joe McTiernan, who head up the Finance and HR departments. Discussions focused on the opportunities and challenges facing Wiltshire businesses, particularly in the engineering and agricultural sectors.
Alexander Scott, CEO of T H WHITE Group, said: ‘It was a pleasure to welcome Kemi Badenoch to our Devizes site. As a business with deep roots in Wiltshire and a strong national presence, we value the opportunity to share the realities and opportunities we see on the ground. Engaging in open dialogue with political leaders helps ensure that the needs of local businesses and the communities we serve remain firmly on the policy agenda.’
