An educational journey towards an electric future

OWL Midlands, held on July 8 at New Hall in Sutton Coldfield, will have the new ‘Dennis to the Rescue’ mobile classroom on show. Attendees will also discover the benefits of switching over to electric refuse collection vehicles.

Dennis Eagle converted the body’s outer shell and tailgate from a ‘standard’ Olympus RCV, specifically to an exhibition and classroom vehicle. The body was re-mounted on a new Euro VI chassis in MY2018 to ensure it was fully ULEZ compliant.

On display at the G7

The new unit provides an immersive environment where children enter a world of enriching learning experiences. In this colourful atmosphere, they engage with entertaining materials that bridge the gap between home and school through enhanced parental involvement. Dennis the Dustcart, Wheeliegood, and Wheelie Bad, the main characters of Dennis to the Rescue, take them through a journey that teaches parents and children about the importance of recycling.

Currently, the truck is on its way to Cornwall to be on show during the G7 with BIFFA. After that, it will be heading towards the Midlands to be on display at OWL.

Attendees to OWL Midlands can visit the classroom outside the picturesque venue of New Hall and see for themself how Dennis Eagle actively works on improving social values and recycling behaviour.

eCollect – discover zero-emissions at tailpipe waste collection

Andy Graves, Product Marketing Manager for Dennis Eagle, will also be present as a speaker at OWL this year. He will update visitors on the eCollect, the in-service vehicles and how it is performing.

Andy comments: ‘The eCollect has an optimal vehicle range combined with an advantageous payload with no compromise of diesel performance. It can create significant carbon emission and ultra-fine particulate savings for your fleet. I look forward to seeing people at OWL Midlands, so I can demonstrate how the eCollect can benefit their operation.’
