Northampton-based Specialist Fleet Services Ltd (SFS) has appointed Alan Chivers as its new Director of Fleet Operations.
Alan, who has over 38-years’ experience in commercial and municipal vehicle provision, will be overseeing all aspects of the SFS’s extensive nationwide local authority fleet, vehicle maintenance and workshop management contracts. Alan will also be working closely with the SFS team on the implementation of strategies regarding the electrification of customer fleets and the utilisation of alternative fuel vehicles.

Alan Chivers began his working life in 1983 as a Commercial Vehicle Engineering apprentice for Reading Borough Council. During his career he worked for a range of private and public sector organisations, progressing to roles such as Workshop Manager and Fleet Manager for a commercial vehicle engineering company. Prior to joining SFS Alan was Head of Fleet Services for the Isle of Man Government.
