The Westminster Commission for Road Air Quality (WCRAQ), chaired by Barry Sheerman MP, is a social enterprise aiming to improve air quality using evidence-based research to shape policy and improve legislation.
It aims to advise and inform members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords on road air pollution and its effects and potential solutions to improve air quality policy in the UK. WCRAQ brings air quality professionals and legislators together to identify research-based solutions to air quality problems. These answers should also consider cost, effectiveness, achievability and acceptability.
The Commission comprises six working parties headed by leading experts in their respective fields.
- Air Quality Monitoring – Chair: Ralph Wilce, Wijs Air
- Air Health – Chair: Professor Stephen Holgate, Southampton University
- Planning & Infrastructure – Professor Peter Roberts, Emeritus Spatial Development at the University Of Leeds
