CTS Hire selects Dennis Eagle and Terberg Matec UK to fulfil fleet expansion

CTS Hire has selected Dennis Eagle and Terberg Matec UK to provide new Elite+ Narrow and ORUS compact satellite collection vehicles in support of its expanding fleet.

It is the latest in a series of fleet upgrades and orders placed over several years, providing flexible access to new, reliable rental vehicles that meet the latest legislative requirements. The new fleet additions include 26-tonne Olympus OL19 bodies on an Elite+ Narrow chassis with Terberg bin lifts, 26-tonne Olympus Twin Packs on an Elite+ Narrow chassis with OmniDEL split lifts, and ORUS 7HD compact satellite collection food waste vehicles.

Founded in 1994, and part of the Specialist Fleet Services (SFS) fleet management and contract hire company, CTS Hire is a supplier of municipal and specialist vehicles, offering short- to long-term rentals in the waste management, recycling, and highways sectors.

Set to be deployed across the UK, the vehicles will help meet the growing demand for specialist food waste vehicles in both the municipal and private sectors, driven by the recently introduced Simpler Recycling regulations. With a leakproof, fully sealed body, integral bin lift and compact footprint, the ORUS is ideally suited to help councils meet the legislated need for separate, weekly food waste collections without having to commit to an outright purchase.

‘With municipal budgets already stretched and no end in sight to these pressures, our flexible hire contracts and maintenance packages offer a cost-effective solution,’ said Bob Sweetland, Managing Director, CTS Hire.

‘The Simpler Recycling regulations for businesses have led to a growing demand for specialist food waste vehicles. These trucks are popular with our customers and can be relied on to do the job efficiently and effectively. Hiring offers operators the chance to try different configurations, powertrains, or chassis providers and see what works best before making a purchase. Understanding how a truck performs on its rounds and getting accurate feedback from its teams takes away a lot of risk for stretched purchase departments.’

CTS Hire‘s decision to extend its 30-year relationship with Dennis Eagle is based on a requirement for proven, vocational-specific vehicles backed up by trusted customer support.

‘We can always talk to someone at Dennis Eagle, which is incredibly important to ensure our customers maintain the highest possible uptime,’ added Bob.

‘We are very proud of the long-standing relationship we have with both CTS Hire and SFS,’ said Richard Taylor, Sales and Marketing Director, Dennis Eagle. ‘Whether it’s sales or aftermarket, we appreciate the opportunity to support CTS Hire in delivering the service and reputation its end users expect. We look forward to continuing this excellent partnership for a very long time.’

As part of its turnkey service, CTS Hire will support councils with a one-stop shop for repair and maintenance at one of its depots nationwide, which includes newly opened sites in Somerset and Exeter. The new vehicles are scheduled to enter the CTS Hire fleet in 2026.
