Gangelt fire department takes delivery of the first new appliance with updated ALPAS superstructure

German firefighting manufacture Ziegler has delivered a TLF 4000 tanker to the Gangelt fire department. This truck is the first to have the new ALPAS superstructure, and it features the new Z-Control operating system.

The new version of ALPAS offers up to 30 % less weight than the previous superstructure and up to 10 % more space. This because of a rearranged design where the shutters on the roof. The new Z-Control operating system is intuitive and self-explanatory, making the pump control even more straightforward and usable for everyone. An assistance system for warnings and errors is also built-in. The vehicle has been built with a 6,000-litre water tank, a 500 + 200-litre foam tank. It features an Alco APF 3-C electric roof-turret with lift operated via Z-Control and a Ziegler ZW 800 electric bumper turret via Z-Control. The total vehicle weighs less than 18-tonnes.
